DescriptionThe chair features a continuous shaped crest rail curving into arm rests that end in simple flat terminals. Thirteen taper turned spindles radiate from the seat to the crest rail, with a pair of heavier bamboo turned arm supports. The shaped saddle seat rests atop bamboo turned canted legs braced with an "H" stretcher assembly. The current black painted surface appears to have been applied over earlier red paint.NotesAssociation accession records contain the following entry, "Chair, Windsor, from an old Shrewsbury family."
