Descriptiona badge of navy blue silk, edged with gold-tone metallic thread. Stamped in gold on silk, "FIELD DAY, / FREEHOLD, / 1893. / LONE [star symbol] 16." Several decorative flourishes are also stamped in gold around the text.
Curatorial RemarksField day participants typically consisted of men representing businesses or other organizations from various local regions.NotesOn the reverse side of the badge, it is apparent that the ribbon was cut and folded up at the bottom, then secured with adhesive. If the ribbon had not been shortened, it appears that it would have also read "DELEGATE" at the bottom.
