Curatorial RemarksThis is one of four related Borden/Hendrickson family portraits given by the donors. NotesJames Holmes Hendrickson (1823 - 1900) was a son of Tobias Hendrickson and Margaret Perrine. He owned and operated the Globe Hotel on East Front Street in Red Bank in partnership with his brother Samuel. About 1855 he married Mary Ellen Borden of Shrewsbury. Hendrickson died in Red Bank in 1900. He and his wife were both interred at Fair View Cemetery in Middletown.
