DescriptionA small, shallow cooking ladle consisting of a wrought iron stem, with narrow flat panels at the bowl and again at the upper portion of the stem separated by a section of rounded stem. The top of the stem ends in a short curved hook. The ladle's bowl is constructed of brass and is riveted to the end of the stem with a pair of brads.Curatorial RemarksBlacksmiths provided a wide range of cooking utensils for local kitchens. This small and charming cooking ladle, with its sturdy iron stem and little brass bowl, uses the two metals to provide attractive contrast.
