DescriptionA goblet with bulbous body and flared lip, set on a stem and rounded foot. The cup is decorated with copper luster on the base, stem, and rim. The body is encircled by a wide green band with relief decorations of a shepherd scene on either side, colored in red, tan, brown, and light green.
Curatorial RemarksAccording to donor records, this cup was given to the donor's mother, Meleney Hall Prest (b. 1856), by Aunt Pompey, an African American woman who was enslaved to the donor's great-grandmother, Meleney (Warne) Hall (1797-1865) of Matawan, New Jersey.
