DescriptionAn adjustable stand for a candle comprised of a baluster turned post above three baluster turned legs. The threaded upper portion of the post is fitted with a turned support arm with a tin lined candle socket at one end. The arm rotates around the threading, allowing the arm to adjust to varying heights. The stand retains an old red painted finish.
Curatorial RemarksA virtually identical candlestand is owned by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, accession number 47.103.10. It differs in having two tin candle sockets whereas the Association's example has only one.
