DescriptionA rectangular storage chest that includes a lid with molded edges attached with two iron cotter pin hinges. The lid lifts to reveal a generous storage space with a single small open till compartment on the left side. A small engraved brass escutcheon is affixed just below the lid at the center top of the chest front. Two shallow drawers with thumbnail molded edges and pairs of brass bails with solid engraved backplates are placed side by side at the base of the chest. The drawers lock from inside the chest, and the drawer bottoms are nailed in place. A bold skirt molding, two turned bun front feet, and two plank rear feet complete the description. The piece retains its early grayish blue painted finish. The turned feet are replacements.Collections
