DescriptionThis storage cupboard with canted corners is constructed in one piece and features a shallow applied cornice molding and a large upper door with two flat panels surrounded by a small cove molding. The left, right and upper edges of the door have been treated with a narrow bead molding. It is mounted on a pair of brass "H" hinges, with a brass pull. The upper door opens to reveal two fixed shelves with grooved plate rail channels. The cupboard's single flat panel lower door is also mounted on a pair of brass "H" hinges and has an identical brass pull to its upper counterpart. It opens to reveal a single fixed shelf. The interior edges of the three door panels have been slightly beveled in a rough manner. The piece stands on simple bracket feet.Curatorial RemarksThis small walnut corner cupboard, made of walnut and white pine, may have been made in New Jersey or Pennsylvania.
