Curatorial RemarksThe B & R Manufacturing Company of New York produced items from the late 19th century to around 1940.NotesThis whistle belonged to Captain Charles Miguel Duncan (1917 - 1991), who served as Sargeant of the 199th Quartermaster Truck Regiment in the New Jersey National Guard. Charles was the son of Charles Miguel Duncan (1876-1960) and Katharine Taylor Neafie (1885 - 1974), and was born in Freehold, Monmouth County. He was married to Margaret Jeannette "Peggy" Stillwell (1919-2005).
