DescriptionLandscape view of a gambrel-roofed, white-painted house with green trim and a gable end facing the road. The structure has a columned front porch on the gable end, and one chimney. It is set in a grassy yard with two beds of blooming flowers, plus additional blooming foundation plantings. There are four trees in the front yard, plus a stump in the lower right corner near the driveway. A roadway appears in the immediate foreground, and additional trees in the distance behind the house. The sky is blue.NotesWhen Joseph Conover Gulick (1838 - 1917) retired from farming, the artist's father built this small home in 1909 on the south side of Holland Road in Middletown, Monmouth County, opposite the Gulick farm. It has been owned for many years by the Choplinsky/Zakanycz family.
