DescriptionWinter depiction of a farmhouse painted brown with white trim and a gray-green roof. A story and a half section in the foreground has a side porch and dormers, whereas the larger two-story section attached to it has two large chimneys on the far gable end. The structure is surrounded by bare trees, brownish-green grass, with a lane passing just in front of the farmhouse. A hill appears in the distance. The sky is a mottled blue.NotesAn early work on cardboard probably dating from the spring of 1947. The view is looking toward the southeast with Ruckman's Hill in the background. The artist has depicted his home as it appeared following renovations carried out in 1924 that included installation of large windows in the dining room, and brown-painted shingles over white-painted clapboards.
