DescriptionView of a white-painted farmhouse with a five-bay facade, flaring eaves, a kitchen wing to the right with a three-bay facade, and three chimneys. There is a raised stoop in front of the central main entrance, a cellarway door to its right, a door into the kitchen wing, and an exposed brick back to the kitchen fireplace. Three small eyebrow windows provide illumination to the second floor. The house is set in a grassy area with paths leading to it. Five trees are show in the foreground in front of the house. The sky is a bright blue with light, white clouds.

Curatorial RemarksGulick painted the view while the Holmes-Hendrickson House remained at its original location. A series of five black-and-white photographs captured him working on it onsite.NotesThe Holmes-Hendrickson House was built about 1754 on property eventually owned by Bell Labs. In 1959, the structure was moved to Longstreet Road in Holmdel, restored by the Monmouth County Historical Association, and opened in 1965 as a historic house museum. This well-preserved landmark is now surrounded by Holmdel Park.
