DescriptionA rectangular lantern constructed of pine, with a stepped base atop four simple peg feet. Four frame panels with glass pane inserts, with one hinged to access interior, fitted with a large iron ring handle. The top has a central circular vent hole, four decorative corner pegs, and a twisted iron wire bail handle.
NotesThis lantern retains its Haskell collection label. Mrs. Haskell often applied a strip of narrow medical adhesive tape to items in her collection, with the written inscription "Property of Mrs. J. A. Haskell." The simple lantern was most likely part of the furnishings Mrs. Haskell purchased for Marlpit Hall in 1936.
