DescriptionA narrow cross section of an early 18th century staircase railing, with a rounded upper section, widening to bead section, then tapering to lower portion with a squared lower edge. A piece of writing paper is glued to one side of the cross section, with old handwritten inked inscription. A small steel eye hook has been attached to the top center for display, and still retains a fragment of twine.
