DescriptionA woman's day dress of grass green sheer chiffon. The dress is constructed with short cap style sleeves, a wide boat neck at the front dipping to a shallow V at the back, a full gathered skirt, and a zipper rear closure. The fitted bodice has a side inset band of bright red, pink, and green floral vine machine embroidery on bright white chiffon lined with white acetate satin. The band serves as a waistband at front, slanting upward to the back V neckline, and ending in a large bow with long hem-length streamers, fastening over the rear zipper with hooks and eyes. The dress is fully lined with bright white acetate satin.
Curatorial RemarksThis dress, with its classic mid-century silhouette, is deceptively simple, relying on fitting and flare. The brightly colored floral embroidered ribbon band elevates this dress and creates a powerful back impact with the hem-length streamers.
