DescriptionA large table with an oval top above a sturdy frame, consisting of a deep skirt with cyma recta arched ends. Four thickly turned cabriole legs end in so-called "sock" feet, which are actually a simplified variant of the trifid foot. The decorative end rails of the frame are set back about a quarter inch from the legs, which are molded with a quarter round along the joint. Two gate legs hinged to the long side rails swing out to support the table leaves. The top and one of the leaves are made of two boards. Layout lines for shaping the oval survive on the underside of the top.Collections
