DescriptionA deep round earthenware plate, hand-decorated in blue, purple, yellow, red, and green on a bluish-white back. A leaping stag is depicted in the center, surrounded by a stylized landscape within a border of x's and dots. The outer border consists of three stylized purple flowers alternating with three stylized pomegranate shapes on blue paneled scrolls.
NotesAccording to Association records, this plate was bought from Lillian Boschen in December of 1935. Boschen ran a well known antiques shop at 81 South Street in Freehold for many years and was for a time a member of the Board of Trustees of the Historical Association.
